Happy anniversary to us!

1 Oct 2018 | News

September 2018 marked the one year anniversary of Wild Wedding Company’s official launch.

It sounds cliché but lots has happened in that year! We’ve planned several weddings and provided decor and styling for several more. At the beginning of the year we just offered wedding planning, but we’ve now also added decor hire and styling. We have lots of different props available for hire as well as beautiful tables and benches and have loved seeing them in use at couples weddings.

Our weddings

The weddings we planned were all so different in style. Our first wedding of the year was an on the day coordination for a Tipi wedding in the bride’s parents garden. This was a beautiful set up by Tentario, complimented by bell tents from Beautiful Bells. The couple added so many handmade and personal touches, a knitted sign by the bride, bouquets with carrot tops in and a handmade easel and seating plan by the bride’s father! Maddie Waters Photography captured all of the elements and more. Check out our portfolio for more photos. A Tipi wedding has lots of elements to juggle aside from the tents themselves, you also need to consider things like toilets, catering tents and equipment, lighting and generators. Often your Tipi or Marquee supplier can provide these, but they will come at an extra cost, so remember to factor that in.

July saw our first full planning wedding. Full planning is always really special as we’ve worked closely with our couple often for a year or more to help them achieve their vision for the perfect day. Usually this involves finding the venue, photographer, caterers, everything! This couple chose their local church, followed by photos at the stunning Stockton Bury Gardens and a reception at Leominster Golf Club. It was a fantastic day full of emotion (particularly during the grooms speech!) and we felt really privileged to be part of it. We really have to get to know our couples and it always feels strange for us when the wedding is over.

In addition to planning weddings we’ve supplied tables and benches, vases, log slices,  cake stands and created bespoke wooden centrepieces for brides and grooms.

Photo shoots

We’ve been fortunate enough to be part of several editorial shoots from contemporary meets rustic style in London,  as featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings to the Amore Eterno romantic luxe shoot in Oxfordshire featured on Style me Pretty.

Our handmade X frame table and benches and wooden centrepieces looked fantastic on an eco-friendly styled shoot at Tournerbury Woods Estate, Hayling Island back in June. See more photos from that shoot in our Portfolio. It’s great to create and be part of styled shoots where wedding professionals can explore ideas as well as hopefully inspire brides and grooms to be!

Ending the year

Our final planned wedding of the year was in The Great Barn in Titchfield. This was another we’d been planning this one with our couple for over a year so it was fantastic to see it all come together. The tables were adorned with cut glass vases and antique medicine bottles filled with meadow flowers. The guests enjoyed a delicious hog roast from The Chichester Hog Squad served family style for everyone to tuck in together. Guests then danced the night away to a Northumbrian Ceilidh band.

Here’s to next year

It’s been a busy first year and we’re really excited to see where the future takes us, with bookings for 2019 and 2020 already in place we’re hoping we’ll be just as busy. Planning your wedding or need some help with decor or styling? Get in touch to see how Wild Wedding Company can help
